Reclaim — Revive — Renew speaks to the future with hope God has for Rosemary United Methodist
Church.
Reclaim! We will reclaim our identity as United Methodists over the next twelve months by using the
method of Acts 2: Studying God’s Word together; Breaking Bread together; Fellowship; and, Worshiping
& Praying together.
Beginning late summer, we will examine our biblical and spiritual roots by studying:
→ The Three General Rules of the Church:
Do No Harm — Do All the Good You Can — Stay in Love with God
→ Our Understanding of God’s Grace
→ Personal Holiness (devotion to Christ)
→ Social Holiness (serving Christ, doing Justice)
→ Lifelong Discipleship (sanctification)
→ Being a Connectional Church
Revive! Note that the Bishops express revival as a fresh commitment to make disciples of Jesus Christ for
the transformation of the world. Along with disciple making, the Bishops call us to embrace the joy of
worship that shapes us in Christlike Holiness.
So our study of the scriptures will focus us on:
→ The Sermon on the Mount: Jesus’ Alternative Plan
→ The Fruit of the Spirit: living into Christlike Holiness
→ The Lord’s Prayer as pattern of Discipleship
Renew! This is a return to our roots as people who leave the building to be the Church with the
community. Bearing the burdens of our neighbors in mission work that lifts people up. Being the church
that welcomes everyone and works to be the community of Christ where everyone can thrive and flourish.
We find strength in the diversity of talent, gifts, and graces.
2
We will focus on:
→ Strengthening our current missions
→ Building on newly launched mission to seniors and children
→ Being in the community so people know us by our love
Look for brief communication (2-3 paragraphs) on each element of the plan as we prepare to take this
journey into our blessed future. Also, look for invitations to summer parties to enjoy each other's company
and grow closer together.
Kanter will be sending you a letter that will give more information on how the North Carolina Conference
will be supporting us with financial assistance and coaches (at no cost to us) to help us go from dreaming to
birthing the future God has for us.
Take this passage for scripture to heart as we anticipate joining together with hope and excitement in the
future God has for us. I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the sharing of his
sufferings by becoming like him in his death, if somehow I may attain the resurrection from the dead…I
press on to lay hold of that for which Christ has laid hold of me…One thing I have laid hold of: forgetting
what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal, toward the prize of
the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:10-14
Reclaim! Revive! Renew!

BOOK BAG BUDDIES PROGRAM
The Book Bag Buddies program at Manning Elementary provides weekend food packs for children in need. Rosemary UMC has faithfully supported these children for many years by providing these packs. This month, our congregation will focus on this mission by collecting items needed for bags, collecting donations and participating in a church wide packing day .
Due to the higher prices of food,, the money for Book Bag Buddies doesn't go as far. The items needed for the Book Bag Buddies should be brought on the first Sunday of each month. ( Items listed below) . Donations are also helpful. Please make your check to Rosemary Methodist Church and iin the FOR line put C4C.
There will be collection bins in the narthex. We serve 90 children on a weekly basis so we will need 360 of the following items:
● Canned pastas (Chef Boyardee cans, mac and cheese cups NO full boxes that need extra ingredients)
● Individually wrapped cracker packs (nabs)
● Fruit cups/apple sauce
● Breakfast bars
● Gummy fruit snacks
We will also be collecting donations for those that would like to contribute in that way. Checks should be made out to Rosemary UMC and “Book Bag Buddies” should be written in the memo.
Our church wide packing day will be in the fellowship hall,
