Sunday, April 30 was Announcement Day across the North Carolina Annual Conference
to share pastoral appointments for 2023-24.
I am honored and humbled to announce that Bishop Shelton and the Cabinet, the eight
District Superintendents, have appointed me to return as pastor of Rosemary UMC.
Our Staff-Parrish Relations Committee (SPRC) met in February to assess our pastoral
needs and our financial stewardship. The SPRC recommended Rosemary UMC become a dual
appointment, sharing our pastor, and the financial support for the pastor with another
congregation.
Beginning July 1, 2023 I will continue to serve us as our pastor and become pastor to the
Collective, a ministry with United Methodists who have been left without a church home as a
result of disaffiliation.
Soon the SPRC will meet to plan for a smooth transition and report to the congregation at
Church Council. Our Finance-Stewardship will also meet so they can report at Church Council
on the cost sharing plan.
God is at work among us. The soup for Seniors on April 22 was another excellent time of
fellowship and service. The upcoming ministry with children, Mother’s Morning Out has 21
volunteer servants and our registrations are growing daily. Our youth are ramping up for
Passport in July and our UMM have again made a significant contribution to the youth mission
trip.
Thank you for continually keeping your vows to serve Christ and your church family
with your Prayers, Presence, Gifts, Service, and Witness.
Grace and Peace,
+Pastor Keith
BOOK BAG BUDDIES PROGRAM
The Book Bag Buddies program at Manning Elementary provides weekend food packs for children in need. Rosemary UMC has faithfully supported these children for many years by providing these packs. This month, our congregation will focus on this mission by collecting items needed for bags, collecting donations and participating in a church wide packing day .
Due to the higher prices of food,, the money for Book Bag Buddies doesn't go as far. The items needed for the Book Bag Buddies should be brought on the first Sunday of each month. ( Items listed below) . Donations are also helpful. Please make your check to Rosemary Methodist Church and iin the FOR line put C4C.
There will be collection bins in the narthex. We serve 90 children on a weekly basis so we will need 360 of the following items:
● Canned pastas (Chef Boyardee cans, mac and cheese cups NO full boxes that need extra ingredients)
● Individually wrapped cracker packs (nabs)
● Fruit cups/apple sauce
● Breakfast bars
● Gummy fruit snacks
We will also be collecting donations for those that would like to contribute in that way. Checks should be made out to Rosemary UMC and “Book Bag Buddies” should be written in the memo.
Our church wide packing day will be in the fellowship hall,
